DJ ToneXpress The ringtone creator, version 3.6 is out

A few months ago I was writing an article about the release of DJ ToneXpress The Ringtone Creator version 2.1.
Today, the software it is already at version 3.6. The new features are many and it is making the software to be considered more like a packages suite than a single application. This fact can only be good thinking that the software is available for only $14.95 on a market estimated at almost $4 billions. You can read about it here.

So just to remind you, DJ ToneXpress is a desktop application that allows you to turn your personal song files into ringtones.The suported sound formats are MP3, WMA, AAC/MP4, WAV, OGG files & Audio CDs.
There are 3 easy steps:

• Upload your music file


• Edit it (choose the segment you want as a ringtone) the maximum length is 30 seconds


• Send the ringtone download link to your phone.

The coolest thing about this is that you don't need a wap service on your phone. You can save the ringtone file to your computer (in a format that you decide. You can choose from mp3 encoded at 64 kbps or 32kbps, m4a, smaf, cqp or amr) and transfer the ringtone to the phone by USB, Bluetooth or Infrared.
Note that this feature is available only for registered users.

New to version 3.6

Also, as a registered user, new with version 3.6, you have access to some interesting plugins, like:

• PhotoXpress, an application that allows you to make mobile phone wallpapers from your own pictures


• SongXpress a plugin that "compresses" unlimited music files from your computer into smaller files compatible to play full tracks on cell phones.


• Social Networks – I think it is the most interesting "widget" of this software, it allows you to Share the ringtones you created, to your friends on your social network site including: MySpace, Friendster, Hi5, CherryTAP, etc.


• smsXpress – Send an sms/text message for free to mobile phones in the USA (Cingular, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile & Verizon compatible).
  I think that the only thing missing is a video plugin, to port your own movie clips on your mobile phone. Maybe in future release? Who knows?
